Affordable Psychology Service in Melbourne

The Value of Provisional Psychologists

At AMH Psychology, we offer services by provisional psychologists as part of our commitment to providing high-quality psychological care that is both accessible and thoughtfully delivered. Our provisionals are in the final stage of their clinical training. While still completing their pathway to full registration, provisional psychologists deliver evidence-based psychological therapy under close, structured supervision from experienced senior psychologists. Working with a provisional psychologist means you benefit from the combined input of multiple experienced psychologists, while paying a reduced fee compared to sessions by a registered psychologist.

Affordable sessions
Our provisional psychologist services provide a more cost-accessible option for individuals seeking ongoing psychological support, while maintaining a high standard of clinical care. See our  provisional psychologist's rates.

Reduced wait times
Provisional psychologists often have wider availability and shorter wait periods compared to many private clinicians.

Evening and weekend availability
Provisional psychologists often provide after-hours  (4:30pm onwards) and weekend sessions to support flexibility and accessibility of support.

High-quality supervised care

Provisional psychologists work within a structured supervision model under senior clinical psychologists, and use contemporary approaches informed by current research and clinical guidelines. Research has shown that clients treated by supervised provisional psychologists improved just as much as those treated by fully qualified psychologists (Buckley, J.V. et al., 2006Schreyer, B. et al., 2025).
