You've taken the first step

Welcome to AMH Psychology – the Anxiety Management Hub.

At AMH Psychology, we are passionate about helping people understand, manage, and overcome all forms of anxiety and stress-related challenges.  Everyone feels stuck at some point in our lives -  whether through unexpected life events, work pressure, relationship challenges, or persistent unwanted thoughts and emotions.  At AMH Psychology, we can help you navigate these obstacles, gain clarity and make meaningful, lasting changes.  We believe in working closely with you, empowering you with the tools, knowledge and insights so you can break free from limitations and move forward on a journey of personal and professional fulfilment.

Break Free. Together, we can.

AMH Psychology is a boutique psychotherapy practice founded by Dr Hana Guo, Clinical Psychologist and ISTDP therapist. We provide evidence-based therapeutic support to adults across Melbourne, Australia, and internationally, welcoming privately funded clients as well as referrals through Medicare, NDIS, and other funding pathways. For our fees and rebate, see Common Questions

Our Values

At AMH Psychology, we value authenticity, respect and excellence. We value and respect every individual and their unique differences. Our commitment to inclusivity extends across culture, language, gender, sexuality, neurotype, ability, profession, and life circumstance.  We proudly support LGBTQIA+ communities and embrace a Neurodiversity-Affirming approach that recognises and respects diverse ways of experiencing and engaging with the world. For those seeking culturally responsive care, Mandarin Chinese-speaking services are also available.

Our Approaches

We offer gentle, active and thoughtful care for individuals navigating anxiety, stress, life transitions, emotional difficulties, and longstanding patterns that may be limiting their wellbeing, relationships, or sense of fulfilment. Our work is grounded in Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP), a contemporary psychodynamic approach which holds that meaningful psychological change emerges through greater awareness of one’s inner emotional world, including underlying needs and conflicts, and a growing capacity to move beyond automatic defensive patterns toward more flexible and authentic ways of relating and responding.  Therapy is never one-size-fits-all. That is why our clinicians are trained across multiple evidence-based therapies and draw on a breadth of clinical experience to integrate the most relevant and effective strategies within a primary psychodynamic framework. Read more about the other effective therapy modalities we use.

Psychotherapy That Fits Modern Life

We believe high-quality psychological support should be both accessible and sustainable. Our clinic offers appointments with experienced psychologists as well as carefully selected Provisional Psychologists working under close clinical supervision. This enables us to provide a range of service options, including reduced-fee appointments, minimal wait times, and flexible scheduling, with evening and weekend availability. You may wish to make a booking with or read more about our provisional psychologists.

To support accessibility, we offer both in-person and secure Telehealth consultations. Recent peer-reviewed studies have demonstrated comparable effectiveness betweenTelehealth and in-person therapies (Shaker et al., 2023).
