You've taken the first step

Welcome to AMH Psychology – the Anxiety Management Hub.

At AMH Psychology, we are passionate about helping people understand, manage, and overcome all forms of anxiety and stress-related challenges. We work with clients across the full spectrum of severity - from mild symptoms through to chronic and severe presentations. This includes supporting individuals who may be home-bound due to significant anxiety, working side by side with them to reclaim their natural functionality and independence.

We have also been very active in expanding their personal insight and capacity amongst working professionals, from early-career to senior leaders, executives, and company directors in fields such as healthcare, research,  engineering, and entrepreneurship. Many are high achievers who find themselves stuck, noticing anxiety or personal barriers that hold them back from realising their full potential. While these struggles may be situational and common, they are nonetheless very real and frustrating, and we are here to help.

Everyone feels stuck at some point in our lives -  whether through unexpected life events, work pressure, relationship challenges, or persistent unwanted thoughts and emotions.  At AMH Psychology, we can help you navigate these obstacles, gain clarity and make meaningful, lasting changes.  We believe in working closely with you, empowering you with the tools, knowledge and insights so you can break free from limitations and move forward on a journey of personal and professional fulfilment.

Break Free. Together, we can.

Dr. Hana Guo
Clinic Director &
Clinical Psychologist

Dr Hana Guo is the Director of AMH Psychology, and a dedicated Clinical Psychologist and board-approved supervisor.  She has worked across a range of clinical settings since 2008 and has lived in several countries with diverse cultural backgrounds.

Hana is trained in a number of evidence-based psychotherapy approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), one of the most well-researched evidence-based therapies, and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), a highly effective therapy for neutralising trauma memories.

Her passion in working with anxiety disorders, particularly Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) began in her clinical Masters training, where she researched the underlying contributing factors of OCD symptoms. No obsessive thought, mental image or compulsions are too unique, too bizarre or too taboo for Hana.

Hana went on to complete a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology where her clinical interest extended to stress-related disorders. Hana's doctorate dissertation examined the factors underlying symptoms of Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) which was published in Neuropsychology, see X.Guo et al. (2017)

In 2024, Hana attained a three-year post-doctoral therapy training in Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP). ISTDP is a powerful form of Psychodynamic therapy.  Well-paced and insight-driven, ISTDP focuses on actively unveiling the subconscious psychological defenses that may be holding people back from living a happy fulfilling life. Research has shown that people who had received ISTDP showed longer-lasting benefits than CBT, even five years after treatment.

Warm, attentive, authentic, and non-judgemental, Hana provides a safe space and gentle challenges in therapy to promote insight and growth. Most clients come weekly or fortnightly; many choose to stay on for a few years for ongoing personal wellbeing and development after attaining their initial therapy goals.  It is a great honour for Hana to bear witness to people's most vulnerable moments as well as their breakthroughs and triumphs.
